Things I'm Obsessed With Lately....

Happy Birthday to meeee!! I decided for my birthday today I would share a few of my favorite things!

5 Things You Should Check Out!

1.) The Lizzie Bennett Diaries- If you haven't seen these videos yet, I highly recommend them! They are a refreshing update on  Pride and Prejudice. Funny, witty, and they have 100 episodes! This is one of the web series that I suggest you check out.

2.) Mail! Yes, the regular mail! I'm a reader and if you are a great through the mail swap site is Paperback Swap. If you love watching movies, the sister site to Paperback Swap is Swap A DVD. And of course I coupon swap...a lot.

3.) Once Upon A Time and Scandal! If you haven't seen these shows yet, run and watch them! I'm waiting....(seriously...time's ticking here!). :) Just kidding. But they are both action packed and will keep you on the edge of your seat for the next episode. Now...how long until Fall is here?!

4.)  Pinterest and yard sales. I have found the cutest stuff lately. And also some furniture I want to redo. Pictures to come when that stuff starts to happen.

5.) New recipes! I cook usually everyday. Every. Single. Day. So of course I love trying new things. I want to keep changing it up. Besides Pinterest, I love Six Sister's Stuff. Their blog is AWESOME! They have a little bit of everything on there. I can get lost on there for hours. But, shhhh don't tell...I'm suppose to be cooking or cleaning!!

Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella

I'm a HUGE fan of Sophie Kinsella's books. I have to admit it. When I see one of her shiny books sitting on a shelf, I have to grab it and read it. It's a little sad really.

So, with that said, I was super excited to dive into reading Wedding Night. With the usual wit and charm, Kinsella puts us smack in the middle of a little sister drama. You have Fliss, the responsible sister who is going through an ugly divorce. Then there's Lottie. She's the fun, outgoing and slightly (cough) erratic sister. Even though they are so different, they're extremely close. So it's a huge surprise for Fliss when she finds out that Lottie has run off to get married at the last minute...to a man that she hardly knows, no less! It's up to Fliss to fix her sister's big mistake and come to her rescue...but will she be able to do so in time? This is one of those books that has it all. Action, adventure, love and humor. It's an easy read and one that would be a great beach book.

I loved this book! Sophie is a wonderful writer and she pulls you into every story that she writes. This one has to be up there with one of my top favorites. It's laugh out loud funny and sometimes a little far fetched, but that's why you read...to get away and enjoy a different life for a little while. Even if you've never read a book by Ms. Kinsella, I would highly recommend you pick this one up. Then after you laugh your way through it, pick up her hilarious Shopaholic series. You won't be disappointed!

New Green Giant Veggie Chips! (make your mouth water yet?!)

I'm a member of BzzAgent and they sent me these new chips to try out. They are from Green Giant and they are veggie chips. Yum!

So when I got to finally try them (the hubby stole them first...for some reason he seems to think he can try them before me...luckily I stole them back!), I was so surprised  The taste was so amazing! They were packed full of flavor and we're really light. I loved them and apparently hubby does to, because my bag was gone within a day! A day I tell you!

They have two flavors and I've tried both and thought they were both awesome! They have Zesty Cheddar (get your attention with that one)?! And yummy sea salt!

Here are the nutrition facts (if you're like me and trying to lose some weight!):

By the way, although these were free for me to try, I gave my honest opinion on them! :)

Six Sister's 4x4 Family Dinner Challenge..

Source

So I'm a huge fan of  Six Sister's Stuff. They recently came out with a new Challenge in which I think is not only a great idea, but something fun for families. It's called the 4x4 Family Dinner Challenge. During March, they are challenging families to have dinner together for 4 nights a week for 4 weeks. Sounds simple enough right? They're also throwing in some great recipes for you to try out. Personally, I've tried a bunch of recipes off their site and love them. So, if you go to the link and check out the challenge, be sure to check out some of their recipes.

Let's try homemade laundry detergent!

I got this recipe on another site. I'm totally up to try it in a few weeks or so...whenever my stockpile of laundry detergent runs out. I'll post pics!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Borax
  • 1 cup Super Washing Soda
  • 1 Bar Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar Soap
Instructions
  1. - Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.
  2. -Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
  3. -Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel).
